My story so far
I am a documentary filmmaker and multimedia producer from India, with an emphasis on gender in society and politics.
After I graduated from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in 2017, it took me a few years to identify the stories I wanted to tell. My search took me to many cities.
Mumbai taught me to take risks and have faith in myself.
Bangalore taught me to receive criticism better.
Srinagar helped me realize that the thing I value most is life itself. I care about us, our rights, and our safety.
Through my work and my expereinces, I became more aware of how the world is so different for men and women and how complex interpersonal, social, and political structures marginalize women. By decoding these systems through my work, I hope to inspire people to question these constructs and fight for the right to be themselves.
